Indian Railways has decided to operate Vande Bharat express train in between Mysuru and Chennai via Bengaluru from November 10th, 2022.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat express train from Chennai to Mysuru. It is India’s 5th and Karnataka’s first Vande Bharat express.
Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18 is a Semi-high-speed, Intercity, Electric Multiple Unit train operated by the Indian Railways. The train has been tested to operate at 180kmph.
Mysuru MP Pratap Simha said that “The 5th Vande Bharat Train will be launched on 10th November 2022. The train will run on Chennai- Bengaluru- Mysuru route”. He thanked PM Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
As of now, Indian Railways is operating 4 Vande Bharat express trains across the country. Chennai Mysuru VB via Bengaluru will be South Karnataka’s first VB express.
As of now VB trains are operating from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, New Delhi to Varanasi, Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central, and Amb Andhaura (Una) to New Delhi.
PM Modi is visiting Karnataka on November 10 to inaugurate following projects: Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and Statue of Prosperity, a 108 ft Bronze statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.
Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi has also requested Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Government of India to start Vande Bharat train in between Dharwad and Bengaluru.
Railway Minister has given a positive assurance on the request of Shri Pralhad Joshi. Railway minister has assured to start it once electrification work gets completed in between Hubballi and Bengaluru.
