The Permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) at Mummigatti on the outskirts of Dharwad city will be inaugurated on March 11.
Informing about the same Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said that ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dharwad to inaugurate IIT Dharwad’.
The inauguration ceremony has been organized beside the IIT Dharwad campus on March 11th, at 3 PM. Preparations are in full swing at the location to complete the work soon.
Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi has informed the CEO of the construction firm involved in building the campus to finish all the pending works as soon as possible.
Around one lakh people are expected to attend the inauguration of the campus. Dharwad is host to two institutes of national importance i.e IIT Dharwad and IIIT Dharwad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of both IIIT-Dharwad and IITDharwad simultaneously at a function in Hubballi on 10th February 2019.
Indian Institute of Technology, Dharwad was formally inaugurated on 28th August 2016 at a temporary campus located at the Water and Land Management Institute (Walmi) campus near the High court bench of Dharwad.

The permanent campus of IIT Dharwad has been constructed at a sprawling 470.2 acres of land near Mummigatti about 3.5kms away from the temporary campus.
