South Western Railway (SWR) and South Central Railway (SCR) have decided to extend Hubballi Vijayawada Express (Train number 17225/17226) from Vijayawada to Narsapur.
Narsapur is a town in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state. SCR has arranged a flag-off function at Narsapur tomorrow (12th January) at 3:00 PM.
Train number 17226 departs Narsapur at 4:00 PM and reaches Vijayawada at 7:35 PM. It departs Vijayawada at 7:45 PM and reaches Hubballi at 11:20 AM on the next day.
Commercial Stoppages on the extended portion: Gudiwada, Kaikaralu, Akividu, Bhimavaram town, Bhimavaram and Palakollu Railway Stations.
In the return direction, Train number 17226 departs Hubballi at 1:20 PM and reaches Vijayawada at 5:40 AM on the next day. It departs Vijayawada at 5:50 AM and reaches Narsapur at 10:30 AM.
En route, the train stops at Annigeri, Gadag, Koppal, Munirabad, Hosapete, Toranagallu, Bellary, Guntakal, Pendekallu, Dhone Junction, Nandyal Junction, Giddalur.
Cumbum, Markapur Road, Vinukonda, Narasaraopet, Guntur, Vijayawada Junction, Gudiwada, Kaikaralu, Akividu, Bhimavaram town, Bhimavaram and Palakollu.
The train has a composition of 19 coaches including 9 Sleeper coaches, 2 3-tier AC Coaches, 1 2-tier AC coach, 5 General class coaches and 2 SLR coaches.
The railway board approved the extension of the Hubballi Vijayawada Express (Train number 17225/17226) a few days back. However, bookings are yet to open for the same.
From Mangalore central the said train could please be extended to Palghat / Coimbatore or Quilon/ kovhuvali since Mangalore Jn. to Mangalore Central is just lip service distance of few kms.
