Hubballi Airport bags another award in UDAN RCS

Another feather in the cap of Hubballi Airport! Hubballi Airport has been adjudged as the best performing UDAN RCS Airport considering the Total number of Passengers served on RCS flights.

Alongside Hubballi, 4 more airports have also been conferred with the same award viz Darbhanga Airport(Bihar), Jorhat Airport(Assam), Kishangarh Airport(Rajasthan), and Nanded Airport (Maharashtra).

Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) had organized ‘Udan Utsav’ to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence (Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsava). Union Minister of Civil Aviation JM Scindia inaugurated the Udan Utsav at Jharsuguda Airport in Odisha.

During the event, UDAN awards were presented to the best-performing RCS airports and Airlines.

Other awards presented at ‘Udan Utsav’

Unserved Airports with most RCS routes operationalized: Jharsuguda Airport, Pakyong Airport, Mysuru Airport, Jaisalmer Airport, and Kolhapur Airport.

Underserved Airports with most RCS routes operationalized: Durgapur Airport, Shillong Airport, Prayagraj Airport, Belagavi Airport, and Jamnagar Airport.

Apart from airports, few airlines have also been conferred with Udan awards based on various evaluation criteria. The details of the awards are as follows.

  • Busiest RCS Airline operator (Maximum flights operated): Alliance Air.
  • Most affordable service provider (Lowest average UDAN Airfare): Trujet.
  • Airline providing maximum connectivity (Greatest number of routes operationalized): IndiGo.
  • Most RCS and Non-RCS seats sold: Spicejet.
  • Highest average passenger load factor on RCS Flights: Star Air.
  • Best Helicopter operator (number of flights, passengers): Pawan Hans.
  • Best new Helicopter operator: Heritage Aviation.
  • Airline with focus on priority areas (maximum percentage of operationalized routes in priority areas): Flybig

The ‘Udan Utsav’ also witnessed the launch of a new UDAN logo and UDAN manual, the unveiling of a Socio-economic impact study report of the UDAN scheme.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and other stakeholders were present during the event.
