Dharwad is going to get its first Cloverleaf Interchange as part of the Development of the Dharwad node under the Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC).
The Cloverleaf Interchange will act as a convenient mode to guide vehicles from Industrial areas, Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) and National Highway NH48 (Pune Bengaluru Road).
A Cloverleaf Interchange is typically built where two major roads intersect each other. The objective of the interchange is to allow two roads to crisscross without stopping the traffic movement.
Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) has invited tenders for the development of key amenities of the Dharwad node on the Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC).
The Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC) has selected Dharwad as a node. The Dharwad node on BMIC will be developed at an area of 6,042 acres.
Dharwad Node will be developed to make it globally competitive in Heavy Engineering, Automobiles, Auto and Engineering Ancillary, Aerospace, and Defence sectors.

Hubballi already has a Cloverleaf Interchange at Gabbur on the outskirts of the city. It is built as part of the Semi Ring Road Project for Hubballi by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

The Cloverleaf Interchange at Gabbur, Hubballi connects three highways viz NH-218(Vijayapura Road), NH-63 (Hospet Ankola Road), and NH-48 (Pune Bengaluru Road) outside city limits.
