Pulling off a remarkable feat, the Dharwad district has managed to vaccinate 1,09,270 beneficiaries in a single day. This is by far the highest vaccine doses administered in the district.
Dharwad DC Nitesh Patil said that “The largest vaccination drive arranged in the district has been very successful thanks to the efforts of healthcare workers and government officials”.
The administration has set up a target to vaccinate around 85,000 beneficiaries. But the district has managed to perform exceptionally well by administering more than a lakh vaccine doses.
Dharwad district has achieved 128.54% of the target and became the third best performing district in Karnataka. Bengaluru Urban and Shimoga district bagged first and second places by achieving 141.87% and 132.68% of the target respectively.
Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said that “Today India vaccinated over 2 crore vaccine doses. Dharwad has managed to vaccinate around 1.1 lakh+ beneficiaries, an ideal way to celebrate the birthday of our PM Narendra Modi.”
Karnataka has managed to vaccinate around 28.9 lakh plus beneficiaries in a single day. Karnataka has been the second best-performing state next to Bihar (Source of Information: CoWIN Portal).
Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka Dr. Sudhakar K said that “Karnataka topped the country in today’s Vaccination drive”. He thanked officers, doctors, healthcare, and all front-line workers for their stellar performance.
India has broken its previous single-day Vaccination record of 1.33 Crores. The remarkable feat has been achieved on PM Narendra Modi’s birthday. India has managed to vaccinate 2.5 Crores+ beneficiaries in a single day.
PM Narendra Modi said that “Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers. I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all front line workers who have toiled to make Vaccination drive a successful one” in a tweet.
He added that “Our shared journey continues, there is much more to be done. We will not rest till we have achieved our dream of a strong, prosperous and inclusive India”.
