Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released the Winter Schedule 2022 for Domestic flight operations. The schedule will be effective from 30th October 2022 to 25th March 2023.
As per the schedule, IndiGo has added a direct Delhi flight from Hubballi Airport (Airbus A320) with effective from 14th November. Apart from it, airlines have neither added nor cancelled any sector from Hubballi.
IndiGo will operate daily direct flights to Bengaluru (2x), Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi (from 14th November), Mumbai, Mangalore (Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat), and Mysuru (Mon, Wed, Fri).
IndiGo flight 6E-5624 leaves Delhi Airport at 10:00 AM and reaches Hubballi at 12:45 PM. In the return direction, flight 6E-5625 leaves Hubballi at 1:15 PM and reaches Delhi Airport at 3:45 PM.
All sectors except the Delhi sector will be operated by 78-seater ATR72-600 aircraft. Delhi sector will be operated by 186 seater Airbus A320. The schedule of IndiGo flights at Hubballi is as follows.
Another airline, Star Air will operate Bengaluru and Hindon (Delhi) flights with a frequency of 4 days per week. The flight will operate on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Unfortunately, Star Air has not added the Tirupati flight which was awarded to them under the Udan 2.0 scheme. Star Air was also awarded the Pune sector, which they never started.
Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi recently said that he is following up with airlines to start Ahmedabad and Pune flights from Hubballi Airport as soon as possible.
Recently, Hubballi Airport has regained third place in Karnataka as far as the number of passengers is concerned. Additional flight to Delhi would further strengthen Hubballi’s chance to retain 3rd place.
