It’s been more than a year since the brand new Decorative streetlights were installed at Station Road in Hubballi. But they haven’t been put to use since then.
Yes, that’s true, those decorative streetlights have become a center of attraction during the daytime. But the real task of providing illumination at night is yet to be accomplished.
Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) had undertaken the redevelopment of Station Road, Hubballi under Package-2 of the Smart Street Scape and Junction improvement project.
HDSCL has installed similar decorative streetlights on a few parts of JC Nagar near Ananth Residency. They are working perfectly fine and the illumination provided is adequate enough.
HDSCL is replacing all the conventional streetlights with LED streetlights wherever they have undertaken road improvement works.

Sadly, most of the LED streetlights installed by HDSCL in residential areas like JP Nagar, Apoorva Nagar, Silver Town, and Dollars colony have not been put into use yet.
