Rani Chennamma Circle flyover, one of the important projects of Hubballi city is making constant progress. The earthwork has been started near the Basava Vana.
To facilitate the construction, traffic in front of Glasshouse junction and IT park has been completely diverted from Basava Vana.
Those who are going towards Hosur from the Old bus stand will have to pass through the Basava Vana and Swimming pool complex in the opposite direction.
Temporary median has been arranged across the stretch of around 500m. As the road is just 2 lanes, it is experiencing heavy traffic snarls.
Pier construction for one arm of the flyover descending towards Gokul Road is already in progress at Vani Vilas Circle near Hosur. However, the construction is yet to be started on other parts.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways had laid the Foundation stone for the flyover virtually around 16 months back (15th January 2021).
Central Government had approved the construction of Elevated Corridor/Flyover at Rani Chennamma Circle of Hubballi at a cost ₹298 Crores.
The Elevated Corridor/Flyover of 3.6km will have all Safety provisions like Crash barriers, Lighting, Sign boards, and Markings will be implemented to ease the traffic congestion.
As per the plan, the flyover will be oval-shaped structure that covers the entire circle. A 4 lane road would connect Ambedkar circle via Lamington Road.
From the elevated corridor, A 2-lane road would proceed towards Hosur Circle via IT Park and a similar road will connect Vijayapura Road via Desai Cross.
It good read such progressive news. Hope all concerned contractors will take it as a challenge given by the Central Government & complete it before target time.
Congratulations to you all.
