Chennamma Circle flyover to be extended till Bidnal cross

Chennamma Circle flyover, one of the most important projects in Hubballi city will now be extended till Bidnal Cross on the old Pune Bengaluru Road.

Union minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi had requested Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to extend the flyover till Bidnal cross.

Nitin Gadkari has acknowledged the need and has agreed to extend the flyover. Apart from it, he has also agreed to construct an Overbridge at Chabbi and an underpass at Mammigatti.

As Bidnal cross is almost at the outskirts of the city, most of the outgoing traffic towards Bengaluru will use the flyover thereby reducing the congestion on the interior roads.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways had laid the Foundation stone for the Chennamma Circle flyover virtually around a year back (15th January 2021).

The construction of piers for the flyover is in progress near IT Park. However, the work seems to have completely stopped from Hosur towards the Gokul Road.

Central Government had approved the construction of Elevated Corridor/Flyover at Rani Chennamma Circle of Hubballi at a cost of ₹298 Crores.

As of now, the district administration has banned the entry of heavy vehicles in Hubballi city from 9 AM to 7 PM to facilitate the construction of the flyover.

  1. Govt. ONLY approves ONLY in NEWS /
WHITE PAPERs. To FOOL public. Work started for FLYOVER opp IT PARK 6 months ago. Work is on TORTOISE SPEED. To see completion by then BJP govt will cease. Next Govt. Will re – tender LOOT PUBLIC T- AXED MONEY. Day & Night work should be done, then only ONE can believe & work is completed

  2. One large flyover and underpass each at
    1. Gandhinagar/YalakkiShetter Colony,.
    2. Bagalkot Petrol Pump/TollNaka/Court Circle and
    3. Jubilee’s Circle/BRTS BusStand/Chennamma Park
Are most urgent requirements of Dharwad.

One Road connecting Karnataka University and Kalghatgi road near Someshwar Temple and IIIT Campus also are urgent.
Please pay attentions Dharwad district Headquarters.

    1. Flyovers are not the solution for traffic conjestion, instead they increase , one good example is Desai cross with completely shattering the bussiness and loosing the value and creating more traffic with two traffic police on duty

    2. Flyovers are not meant in traffic easing , instead create traffic and loose the bussiness around . One good example is Desai cross in hubli. The bussiness around is lost and traffic has increased and two traffic police are on duty to maintain . If such a small flyover can create such disaster , then about the 2.9 km flyover in hubli . How it affects the city,

  3. Flyovers and road works started recently in twin cities….govt should plan and execute the work by informing public by road work place and completion date, so that public will take diversions….

I suggest Hubli Dharwad concerned police department to educate public maintaining lane discipline and especially auto and two wheelers and ksrtc bus…so that traffic jams can be prevented…. police should fine traffic violators… instead of unnecessarily stoping all vehicles… traffic police should maintain traffic instead of as if appointed to collect fines… this is really irritating public…. strictly implementing rules to make parking facilities for commercial complexes or constructing parking complexes… instead of collecting fines for no parking….

  4. Road humps to be provided ad per IRC standards. Unnecessary and unscientific humps are being provided in all roads. Huge unscientific humps are on BRTS Road near dargah at Bhairidevarkoppa. Officials requested to remove these humps .
