Karnataka state Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy performed Bhoomi pooja for the construction of the New city bus terminal at Dharwad and the Upgradation of Hubballi’s New Bus Stand.
The new City Bus Terminal at Dharwad will be constructed at a cost of ₹13.11 Crores. Upgradation of the CBT at Dharwad was a long pending demand from the citizens of Dharwad.
The minister has instructed the contractor to complete the construction work within a year. The current CBT at Dharwad is in dilapidated condition, badly waiting for the upgrade.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy also performed Bhoomi pooja for the Upgradation of Hubballi’s Gokul Road New Bus Stand at a cost of ₹23.48 Crores.
Construction of New CBT work at Dharwad includes the Main building, Concreting the bus bays, 4 numbers of Platforms/Bus bays, Rest area for women, and Separate toilets for Men and Women.
It will also include a Clean drinking water unit (RO plant), Seating arrangement for passengers, Installation of Granite flooring in the main building, Canteen and commercial outlets.
The upgraded CBT will also have a Traffic control room and restroom for NWKRTC staff. Office space will be created on the first floor for NWKRTC-related works.
Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed that NWKRTC will get 884 new buses within 3-4 months. Tender work for 300 new buses is in process, the buses are likely to join the fleet by the end of the month.
Dharwad district in-charge minister Santosh S Lad, MLA NH Konareddy, NWKRTC MD Bharath S, other officials of NWKRTC and others attended the Bhoomi pooja function.
