Bengaluru Hubballi Janshatabdi Express gets E-loco

One of the premium trains in between Bengaluru and Hubballi, the Janshatabdi Express (Train number 12079/12080) has got Electric loco from yesterday (19th July 2023).

WAP-7 Loco (30630 nicknamed Kabini) from KJM completed the first E-loco run from Bengaluru to Hubballi. Loco 30622 (nicknamed Sharavati) completed the return leg (Train 12080).

As Hubballi to Bengaluru railway line is fully doubled and electrified, Indian Railways is gradually changing the Diesel link of trains to an Electric link.

South Western Railway (SWR) will convert all the trains in between Hubballi and Bengaluru to Electric locos in a phased manner. A few other trains will also get E-locos soon.

Train number 12079 Janshatabdi Express leaves Bengaluru at 6:00 AM and reaches Hubballi at 1:10 PM. The train operates on all days with the same schedule.

En route, the train stops at Yeshwantpur jn, Tumakuru, Arsikere jn, Birur jn, Chikkajajur jn, Davanagere, Harihar, Ranibennur, Haveri, and terminates at SSS Hubballi Railway Station.

In the return direction, Train number 12080 Janshatabdi Express leaves Hubballi at 2:05 PM and reaches Bengaluru at 9:15 PM. The stoppages remain the same.

The train has a composition of 13 coaches including 11 Non-AC Chair Car coaches and 2 AC Chair Car coaches. The train undergoes primary maintenance in Bengaluru.
