Achieving a new milestone, the Hubballi division of South Western Railway (SWR) has started deploying E-loco between Belagavi and Dharwad.
Hubballi Loco shed’s WAG9HC (numbered 43316) was deployed to haul Train number 07335 Belagavi Managuru special fare express train starting from Belagavi.
It is the first commercial run of Electric locomotives between Belagavi and Dharwad. More trains are likely to get E-loco between Dharwad and Belagavi in the coming days.
Earlier, the train used to get E-loco till Hubballi, and it used to continue towards Belagavi with a diesel link. The addition of E-loco will reduce the expenditure on the railways.
Commissioning of Electric traction and Traction substations (TSS) between Londa to Belagavi helped South Western Railway to deploy Electric loco between Dharwad and Belagavi.
Train number 07335 Belagavi Managuru Express train leaves Belagavi at 1:10 PM and reaches Managuru at 12:50 PM on the next day. The stoppages are as follows.
Khanapur, Londa, Alnavar, Dharwad, Hubballi, Gadag, Koppal, Hospet, Toranagallu, Daroji, Bellary, Guntakal, Adoni, Kosigi, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir, Chittapur.
Mankhaid road, Sedam, Tandur, Vikarabad, Lingampalli, Begumpet, Secunderabad, Bhongir, Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Kesamudram, Mahbubabad, Dornakal, Gandhipuram and Bhadrachalam road.
In the return direction, Train number 07336 Managuru to Belagavi special train leaves Managuru at 3:40 PM and reaches Belagavi at 3:55 PM on the next day.
Hubballi to Londa section is already doubled and electrified. More trains like Belagavi Superfast Express and Rani Chennamma Express may also get E-loco in the coming days.
