Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has accorded in-principle approval for establishing National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Hubballi Dharwad.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said that the Government has sanctioned one more Institute of National Importance to the Twin cities.
NFSU will create skilled manpower in the field of Criminal Investigation, and conduct Innovative experiments to develop new methods related to the Investigation, Prevention, and Detection of Crimes.
Now, since NFSU has been sanctioned to Hubballi Dharwad, the Karnataka government has to initiate further action in this regard.
The Karnataka government needs to invite the officers of NFSU to finalize the total land requirement and initiate the land transfer protocol at the earliest.
After finalizing the land required for establishing the National Forensic Science University; NFSU will then prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the same and submit it to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
National Forensic Science University (NFSU) will have an off-campus in Hubballi. As of now, there are 8 off-campuses of NFSU across India. They are as follows.
NFSU Gujarat, NFSU Delhi, NFSU Goa, NFSU Tripura, NFSU Bhopal, NFSU Pune, NFSU Guwahati, and NFSU Manipur.
Pralhad Joshi has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah for sanctioning National Forensic Science University (NFSU) to Hubballi Dharwad.
