There is some good news for Hubballi Dharwad citizens! The dangerous stretch of Hubballi Dharwad bypass connecting twin cities will now be 8-laned instead of 6.
Union minister and Dharwad MP announced the same while inaugurating a few Smart City projects at Indira Gandhi Glass House (Mahatma Gandhi Park) in Hubballi.
Pralhad Joshi said that the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has agreed to widen the Hubballi Dharwad bypass to 8 lanes. At present, it is 2 lanes only.
National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has already called Tenders for the 6 laning of Hubballi Dharwad bypass plus 4 lane service road from Gabbur in Hubballi till Narendra Cross in Dharwad.
The 31.6km stretch of HD bypass will be built under EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode. Travelers between Hubballi and Dharwad will be exempted from paying the toll.

This project should not become like another unscintific brts project or nice built byepass road which are respnsible for many accidents.tax payers money is not allowed to fill the pockets of poltiticians and contractors.
We have been hearing this since long time. There is hardly any development. This is similar to IT park in Hubli – Dharwad. Planning has taken place more than 10 years ago. Hardly any land has been allocated to IT companies.
Once commession gets within zero period it will complete.
8 lane road is not required for hubli dharwad 6lane is enough I think 8 is waste of money
Which is correct
Point 1.Six Lane plus 2 lane service Road one side plus 2 Lane service road other side.So total lanes comes to 6+2+2=10.
Or
Point 2:Eight Lane plus 2 Lane service road one side plus 2 Lane service road other side.Total lanes 8+2+2=12 Lanes INSTEAD word has created a confusion.I guess this project will be in paper than than physical execution.
Sir , Please start the work at the earliest..
