Chennamma circle flyover work is making constant progress. The construction of piers for the flyover is in progress near IT Park. Take a look at the under-construction Pier.
However, the work seems to have completely stopped from Hosur towards the Gokul Road. The same stretch is experiencing huge traffic snarls as part of the road is being used for the construction.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways had inaugurated the construction of the flyover virtually around a year back (15th January 2021).
Central Government had approved the Construction of Elevated Corridor/Flyover at Rani Chennamma Circle of Hubballi at a cost of ₹298 Crores.
Traffic in front of the IT park has been completely diverted. Those who are going towards BRTS Corridor from the Old bus stand will have to pass through the Swimming pool complex in the opposite direction.
A temporary median has been arranged across the stretch of around 500m. As the road is just 2 lanes, it is experiencing heavy traffic snarls.
The district administration has banned the entry of Heavy vehicles in Hubballi city from 9 AM to 7 PM. That has reduced the traffic congestion in the city, otherwise, the situation would have been a lot worse.
