South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to replace conventional ICF coaches of Train number 17315/17316 Vasco Velankanni train via Hubballi Dharwad with LHB coaches.
As per a press release by SWR, one rake of Train 17315/17316 Vasco Velankanni Weekly Express has got LHB coaches from March 4 (Vasco da Gama end) and from March 5 (Velankanni end).
LHB coaches are passenger coaches developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany. They are known to provide a better travel experience and safety than conventional ICF coaches.
Train 17315 Vasco Da Gama Velankanni Express departs Vasco Railway Station at 9:00 AM every Monday and reaches Velankanni Railway Station at 12:25 PM on Tuesday.
The train arrives/departs Dharwad Railway Station at 1:38 PM/1:40 PM and Hubballi Railway Station at 2:20 PM/2:30 PM. The train operates on Monday.
Train 17316 Velankanni Vasco Da Gama Express departs Velankani Railway Station at 11:55 PM every Wednesday and reaches Vasco Da Gama Railway Station at 2:40 AM on the next day.
The train arrives/departs Hubballi Railway Station at 8:10 PM/8:20 PM and Dharwad Railway Station at 8:44 PM/8:46 PM. The train operates on Wednesday.

The train has a composition of 20 coaches including Six 3-tier AC coaches, One 2-tier AC coach, 8 Sleeper coaches, 3 General class and 2 EOG coaches.
