The Government of Karnataka, in association with IRCTC Limited, has announced the “Karnataka Bharat Gaurav Dakshina Yatra,” a theme-based pilgrimage tour via Hubballi covering prominent South Indian pilgrimage places.
The 6-day tourist package covers prominent sacred places in South India, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, and Madurai.
The train starts from Belagavi and has boarding points at Hubballi, Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Tumakuru, and Bengaluru. The fare is 15,000₹, but the Karnataka government is offering a subsidy of 5,000₹.
The train is set to depart on 18th January 2024, as of now only one trip has been announced. The destinations and places covered in the itinerary are as follows.
Thiruvananthapuram: Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple; Kanyakumari: Bhagavathy Temple, Vivekananda Rock Memorial; Rameshwaram: Ramanathaswamy temple; Madurai: Meenakshi temple.
The package includes Train Journey by Bharat Gaurav Special tourist train in 3AC class, Night stay will be provided in Hotels in non-AC rooms on twin/triple share.
Wash and change as per itinerary in Hotels in Non-AC Rooms, All meals will be Vegetarian only. All Transfers and sightseeing will be provided by non-AC buses.
The package also includes Travel insurance for the passengers, the total fare is inclusive of all taxes. Necessary security on board the train will be provided. Detailed itinerary here.
The package does not include the Cost of sightseeing, Entrance and Local guides, Boating, Adventure sports etc. Any kind of room service will be chargeable.
Any expenses of a personal nature such as Laundry expenses, Mineral water, Food and drinks not on the regular menu will be on a chargeable basis.
Cancellation charges for the Bharat Gaurav Dakshina Yatra train are as follows:
- Up to 15 days (excluding departure date): 250₹ per passenger.
- Up to 8-14 days (excluding departure date): 25% of package cost.
- Up to 4-7 days (excluding departure date): 50% of package cost.
- Less than 04 days: 100% of the package cost.
