The work of the direct railway line between Tumkur and Davanagere reducing the distance between Bengaluru and Hubballi has gained some momentum.
South Western Railway (SWR) has informed that the Construction of Minor bridges, Road Over Bridges, Blanketing and Earthworks is in progress between Urakere and Thimmarajanahalli stations.
Land acquisition: According to an RTI, the Karnataka government has handed over 681.86 acres of land against the required 2470 acres. The districtwise breakup of the land acquired is as follows.
Tumkur: Land required: 982.11 acres, Acquired: 472.85 acres, Distance: 58.65km, Chitradurga: Land required: 1250.92 acres, Acquired: 0, Distance: 102.39 km. Davanagere: Land required: 237 acres, Acquired: 209 acres, Distance: 20.6 km.
Tumkur to Davanagere direct railway line via Chitradurga is expected to be completed in the next 3-4 years. The project will reduce the journey in between Dharwad/Hubballi and Bengaluru by 80km.
Both the Railway department and the Karnataka government are sharing the cost of the project on a 50:50 basis. Around 2470 acres of land will be acquired to execute the project.
The total distance of the new railway line will be around 201.47km. Following railway stations will be constructed en route for the benefit of railway users.
Davanagere (existing), Avargere, Tolahunase, Anagodu, Hebbalu, Bharamasagara, Laxmisagar, Chitradurga, Doddasiddanvvanahalli, Palavvanahalli, Ayamangala, Metakurike, and Hiriyur.
Continued: Anesidri, Tavarekere, Sira, Chikkanhalli, Jogihalli, Thimmarajanahalli, Urakere, and finally it reaches Tumkur. The project will be executed at a cost of ₹1800 crores.
Initially, the line will be constructed with an MPS of 100 Kmph. The new line will reduce the distance as well as travel time between Bengaluru and Hubballi Dharwad.
It’s our FATE that’s all government who ruled our state lagged behind to do NEW projects have now got up to make this project YET to start and reduce the distance between the second largest citie’s of our state which again increases income for local people of Tumkur Chitradurga and davangere livelihoods living on farming and other sector will increase people travel in day and come back from capital city Bangalore for their livelihoods quick decisions by street government to hand over the land to the railway department will reduce the LONG LONG years to complete this project and Central Government go and in and to complete this mega project
If the state Government and South Western Railway s not having the will power then Hand over the Project to NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OF INDIA.THEY WILL EXECUTE IT WITH MINIMUM TIME AND WITH MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.
