Southern Railway (SR) has decided to operate a one-way special train between Mangaluru and Hubballi via Madgaon today (July 29th). Details are as follows.
Train number 06178 Mangaluru Central to Hubballi special train via Madgaon departs Mangaluru Central at 11:10 PM and reaches Hubballi at 1:30 PM the next day.
En route, the train will have stoppages at Mangaluru Junction, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Byndoor, Mookambika Road, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta.
Gokarna Road, Karwar, Balli, Madgaon, Sanvordem, Kulem, Castlerock, Londa, Alnavar, Dharwad and terminates at SSS Hubballi junction Railway Station.
Southern Railway has arranged the train to clear the extra rush of passengers during the monsoon season. The train will have a special fare (Tatkal fares) for the journey.
The train will have a composition of 14 coaches including 1 AC 3-tier coach, 6 Sleeper coaches, 5 General class coaches and 2 Luggage cum Brake van coaches.
There is quite a lot of demand to connect Mangalore and Hubballi through overnight train as well as a day intercity train. SR and SWR needs to act swiftly in the interest of the public.

Bookings for the same is already open on the IRCTC website https://www.irctc.co.in/nget/train-search. Passengers are requested to use the special train, stated a press release from SR.
