Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi reviewed the progress of Hubballi Airport’s New Terminal today. The construction of the new terminal is going on at a brisk pace.
Speaking at the meeting, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi stated, “The apron area at Hubballi Airport will be expanded to accommodate 10 Airbus A320/Boeing 737 aircraft.”
As of now, the plinth beam and grade slab casting for the new terminal are in progress. The RCC column casting for the escalators and staircase reinforcement is also in progress up to the plinth level after waterproofing.
City-side canopy foundation footing and column casting up to the plinth level are in progress, along with other works such as backfilling for lifts, escalators, and substations.
Dismantling of the paver blocks and excavation in the existing car parking area are currently underway. A new parking space will be constructed, accommodating 320 cars, 140 taxis, 120 staff parking spaces, and space for 10 buses.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone (virtually) for the construction of Hubballi Airport’s new terminal on March 10, 2024. The total project cost is 228.25 crores.
The new terminal at Hubballi Airport will span 3 levels with a total built-up area of 15,950 square meters (Ground floor: 8,860 sq.m, Mezzanine Floor: 3,325 sq.m, First floor: 3,765 sq.m).

The existing terminal has the capacity to handle 300 peak-hour passengers (150 arrivals + 150 departures). The new terminal will be able to accommodate 2400 peak-hour passengers (1200 arrivals + 1200 departures).
