The redevelopment (or rebuilding) of the Old Bus Stand, one of the significant landmarks of Hubballi City near Chennamma Circle is almost complete.
Old bus stand, Hubli will re-open with a new look soon. As of now, the main building, Glass facade works, Down ramps for the Suburban services are almost completed.
As per the plan, the terminal will have 3 levels i.e. Basement, Ground floor, and 1st floor. HDBRTS and City services will be operated from the Ground floor whereas Suburban services will be operated from 1st floor.
Parking facilities will be provided in the basement for around 250 bikes and 100 cars. The terminal will get a 25,000kW Solar Power Plant to make the bus terminal self-sufficient.
To facilitate the construction, the Suburban services were moved to the New Bus Stand at Hosur. HDBRTS Limited Stop service (100D) was moved to the Railway Station under the new route 100B.make the bus terminal self-sufficient.
Smart City Limited (HDSCL) had taken up the Rebuilding of the Old Bus Stand under Smart City funds. The total cost of the project is around ₹36 Crores.
HDSCL demolished the entire Old Bus Stand in July 2021. The project was originally scheduled for completion within 18 to 24 months, but it faced significant delays.

Also, to facilitate the construction of the Rani Chennamma Circle flyover near the Hubballi Old Bus Stand, authorities have dismantled the HDBRTS bus stop located there.
