Nidec Industrial Automation India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation will invest $55 Million in Kotur Belur EMC Cluster, Dharwad by next year.
The new, technologically advanced facility will set up six factories focussing on the Mass production of Electric vehicles (EVs) for Two-, Three, and Four-wheeler segments.
A delegation led by MB Patil, Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure Government of Karnataka met officials of Nidec Corporation earlier today in Japan.
Nidec Industrial Automation India Private Limited’, had performed Bhoomi Pooja for a new factory on September 5th, 2023 at Kotur Belur EMC Cluster Industrial Area in Dharwad.
During the discussions, the panel emphasized the abundance of growth opportunities in Karnataka for Nidec’s core competencies, including Motors, Power backup generators, Gearboxes, Machinery, and Research and Development activities.
MB Patil confirmed GoK’s commitment to support Nidec’s ambitious plans and eagerly anticipates providing further updates on this significant development.
The factory will manufacture a wide range of Motors, Generators, Drives, and System Solutions used in various segments including Renewable Energy, Data Centers, Industrial Automation, Infrastructure, and Electric Vehicles (EVs).

The new factory is located at Kotur Belur Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) located on the outskirts of Dharwad city near the Belur Industrial area.
The investment worth ₹450 Crores (US$55 Million) will provide employment opportunities to around 800 people. The project is likely to be completed by September 2025.
