Indian Railway (IR) has managed to earn ₹54,733 Crores of revenue from April 2022 to January 2023. IR registered an increase of 73 percent in comparison to ₹31,634 Crores achieved during the same period last year.
In the Reserved passenger segment, the approximate number of passengers booked during the period 1st of April 2022 to 31st January 2023 is 6,590 Lakhs as compared to 6,181 Lakhs during the same period last year showing an increase of 7%.
The revenue generated from the reserved passenger segment during the same period is ₹42,945 Crores as compared to ₹29,079 Crores during the same period last year, showing an increase of 48%.
In the Unreserved passenger segment, the approximate number of passengers booked during the period 1st April 2022 to 31st January 2023 is 45,180 Lakhs as compared to 19,785 Lakhs during the same period last year, showing an increase of 128%.
The revenue generated by Indian Railways from the Unreserved passenger segment during the same period is ₹11,788 Crores as compared to ₹2,555 Crores during the same period last year, showing an increase of 361%.
