Mahesh Tenginkai, MLA of the Hubballi Dharwad Central constituency, has requested MoSR V. Somanna to reverse the direction of Train 20661/62, Bengaluru Dharwad Vande Bharat Express.
In a letter to the MoSR, MLA Mahesh Tenginakai has requested that the Vande Bharat Express should depart Dharwad at 5:30 AM, reaching Bengaluru around 11:00 AM.
He also requested that the Vande Bharat Express should depart Bengaluru at around 5:00 PM and reach Hubballi-Dharwad at around 10:30 PM and 11:00 PM respectively.
The change in the direction of VB enables people to travel to Bengaluru, complete their work, and return to Hubballi Dharwad in a single day.
Reversing the direction of the Bengaluru Hubballi Dharwad VB has been under discussion since day one. Now, the demand is finally receiving the much-needed attention.
Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Railways, V. Somanna responded positively to my request, informed MLA Mahesh Tenginakai in a tweet.
During the inauguration of Vande Bharat Express last year, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi had promised to reverse the direction of the train for the convenience of passengers.

With the perseverance of Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi, Indian Railways introduced the Vande Bharat Express between Karnataka’s capital, Bengaluru, and Hubballi-Dharwad on June 27, 2023.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express has reduced the travel time between Dharwad and Bengaluru to just six hours, a significant improvement over the other options.
