Airport Authority of India has released Air traffic statistics for the month of March-2022. As per the reports; 20,571 passengers used Hubballi Airport during the month of March-2022.
The airport registered 406 flight movements and handled 6 MT of Cargo during the same period. Air traffic is slowly picking up, but there’s a long way to go till it reaches pre-covid levels.
India’s largest airline, IndiGo is starting Direct flights to Hyderabad, Mangaluru and Mysuru from Hubballi with effective from April 27th, May 1st and May 3rd respectively. Details of the new flights can be found here.
Hubballi Airport registered a 11.7% decrease in number of passengers compared to the same month in 2021. 23,300 passengers had used Hubballi Airport during the month of March-2021.
The airport registered a 22.5% decrease in the number of flight movements compared to the same month in 2021. 524 scheduled flights had operated from Hubballi Airport during the month of March-2021.
Hubballi registered a 33.3% decrease in the volume of cargo handled compared to the same month in 2021. The airport had handled 9MT of Cargo during the month of March-2021.
The passengers are requesting resumption of flights to Ahmedabad, Kochi and Goa. But, the runway re-carpeting work at Ahmedabad airport has hindered the IndiGo’s plan to reintroduce Hubballi Ahmedabad flight.
