Karnataka Unlock 3.0 Update: The Government has announced new unlock guidelines that will be effective from July 5th, 6 AM. CM BS Yediyurappa chaired a meeting with the Ministers and officials of the Health and Revenue Department at his official residence ‘Kaveri’ to draft new guidelines.
As per the new guidelines, the Karnataka government has also decided to open Malls with 50% of capacity. The Malls will have to adhere to the guidelines set by the government. Karnataka will now allow shops to open till 9 PM.
The Government will now allow Temples and other places of religious interest to open with some restrictions. Marriage functions will be allowed with a maximum of 100 attendees. Funerals will be allowed with a maximum of 20 members.
There were mixed opinions on whether or not to continue the Weekend and Night Curfew in Karnataka. Some of them had suggested canceling the Weekend Curfew as most of the businesses do well on Weekends than on Weekdays.
The Government has now decided to remove the Weekend Curfew effective from July 5th. The timings of Night Curfew have been amended based on the suggestions. From July 5th, Night Curfew will be effective from 9 PM to 5 AM.
The Government will also allow Buses and Metros to operate with 100% of capacity from July 5th, 6 AM. Offices will be allowed to operate with 100% of capacity strictly adhering to the guidelines.
‘Karnataka Unlock 3.0 Guidelines will be effective for 2 weeks starting from July 5th, 6 AM. After two weeks, based on the situation further amendments will be made to the guidelines’ said CM BS Yediyurappa.
The meeting at ‘Kaveri’ was attended by DCM & State Taskforce President Dr. Ashwathnarayan CN, Ministers Jagadish Shettar, Arvind Limbavali, Chief Secretary to Government Ravikumar, BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta, DGP Praveen Sood, and other senior officials of the Health Department.
