Hubballi to get direct Delhi flight soon

There is some good news for the people of Hubballi Dharwad! Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi informed that Hubballi will get a direct flight to Delhi soon.

There are some slot issues at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI, Delhi) to start Hubballi Delhi direct flight and these will be sorted out soon, he added.

Pralhad Joshi will be going to Delhi later today and he has scheduled a meeting with IGI, Delhi authorities tomorrow to sort out the issue. Once it is cleared, Hubballi will get a direct flight to Delhi.

Pralhad Joshi was addressing the gathering at the Techceleration Hubballi event organized by Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), part of the Beyond Bengaluru initiative.

As per the Airport Authority of India (AAI) report, Hubballi Airport has managed to regain 3rd place as far as the Number of passengers is concerned (in August-2022).

Hubballi Airport was the 3rd busiest Airport in Karnataka during pre-covid times. However, Belagavi Airport overtook HBX due to Udan-3 benefits.

It is worth mentioning that with only 74 seater ATR’s and 50 seater Embraer E145’s in operation, Hubballi has managed to regain 3rd place in Karnataka.

At present, IndiGo operates direct flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Mumbai, and Mysuru. And Star Air connects Hubballi Airport with Bengaluru and Hindon (Delhi).

Hubballi Airport is the only airport in North Karnataka to host a dedicated Cargo terminal. The facility is spread across a 1000sq.m area and is having one-time hold capacity of 100MT & Annual capacity of 15000 MT.
