The generated energy will be utilized by other Airports such as Belagavi Airport (IXG), Mysuru Airport (MYQ), Bellary Airport, GAGAN Complex Bengaluru, and HAL Airport, Bengaluru.

KWp stands for ‘Kilowatt Peak’ output of the Solar power plants. For example, A solar panel with 8000 KWp rating will produce 8000 KW at one hour when operating at its full capacity.

In addition to being the first Green Airport in the state, Hubballi Airport also enables other airports to become 100% Green Airports as far as power consumption is concerned.

With this Hubballi Airport, one of the busiest airports of North Karnataka has added another feather in its cap. The airport has become one of the leading contributor to the Mission Sugam.

Sustainable Green Airport Mission (SUGAM) is AAI’s mission to reduce the carbon footprints of the aviation industry by promoting renewable energy practices.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) has installed Ground mounted Grid connected Solar power plant at Hubballi Airport. It is expected to generate around 140 Lakh units of electricity.

Pralhad Joshi has thanked Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia for supporting his idea of making the Hubballi Airport, the first Green Airport in Karnataka.
