Dharwad district has highest Per-capita income in North Karnataka

According to a Economic survey for the year 2019-20, Dharwad district has the highest Per-capita income in North Karnataka.

As per the survey, Dharwad district has a Per-capita income of ₹1,77,798. Bengaluru Urban district has the highest income in Karnataka standing at ₹5,41,638.

Per-capita income is a measure of the amount of money earned by an individual in a region. The figure indicates the Standard of living and Purchasing power of a population.

Bengaluru Urban, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi occupied the first 3 places in Karnataka with an income of ₹541638, ₹371771, and ₹297524 respectively per person.

The last 3 places have been occupied by Kalaburagi, Koppal and Bidar. The income of these districts is ₹100446, ₹110886, and ₹111750 respectively.

The figures for a few important districts in Karnataka are as follows. Tumakuru (₹184119), Ballari (₹173529), Mysuru (₹154748), Kolar (₹142114), Gadag (₹136382), Davanagere (₹127143), Belagavi (₹116510).

Dharwad district stands at 11th place in Karnataka. The first 10 places have been occupied by South Karnataka districts. Unfortunately, the last 8 places have been occupied by North Karnataka districts.

Dharwad district has been selected as an important node in Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC) project. Developments in the industrial field, are likely to increase the income of the district in coming days.
