Bengaluru based startup launches CoviRaksha: a Roll-on Disinfectant

Nutan Labs, a nanotechnology-based startup in Bengaluru has launched ‘CoviRaksha’, an Ayurvedic proprietary roll-on that helps in preventing Covid and also in the treatment of the disease. Incubated at Center for Nano Science Engineering – IISc Bengaluru, the Roll-on disinfectant has been tested on 10,000 people who were not infected by the virus.

The product has been developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. As claimed CoviRaksha helps to mitigate and address the spread of Covid-19 and also other virus variants. CoviRaksha has proved to be 99.99% efficient claimed Nutan Labs in a press release.

CoviRaksha has been tested on 10,000 people who were not infected by the virus. And the research showed that it helps in increasing Oxygen saturation by decongesting the Respiratory tract, reduces Coughing and Sore throat.

CoviRaksha comes as a Roll-on bottle with 10ml as the quantity. The Silver Colloid-based liquid that has can be used for the treatment of Covid-19 and Black Fungus infections. According to the lab, the bottle can help to protect from the virus for a minimum of 3 hours.

The product developed by Nuthan Labs in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru has received a nod from the Ayush Department of Karnataka, while it is still awaiting a nod from the central department.

Management Consultant Venu Sharma said that “As of now the Raw material sourcing and cost of production is high. Including taxes, the MRP of CoviRaksha will be near ₹300 to 350. But by mass production, the product will be 20 to 30% cheaper.”

A day after Minister for Health and Medical Education, Dr. K Sudhakar had stressed the need to focus on research in Ayurveda. Nutan Labs, on Tuesday, launched an Ayurvedic proprietary medicine that helps in preventing Covid and also in the treatment of the disease.
