17 candidates to contest for Dharwad Loksabha seat

Out of 25 candidates who were duly nominated for the Loksabha elections from Dharwad constituency, 17 candidates will contest for the MP seat on May 7th, 2024.

District Collector Divya Prabhu who is also the Returning Officer said that out of 25 candidates, eight candidates withdrew their nomination during the stipulated time.

The candidates were allowed to withdraw their nomination from Dharwad MP seat yesterday (April 22) from 11 AM to 3 PM, said Divya Prabhu, Dharwad DC in a press release.

The final list of 17 candidates (both belonging to notified political parties and independent candidates) contesting for the Dharwad MP seat are as follows.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): Pralhad Joshi, Indian National Congress (INC): Vinod Asooti, Bharatiya Ekata Party: Javed Ahmed Belgaonkar, Prahar Janashakti Party: Takappa Yallappa Kalal.

Karnataka Rashtra Samithi Party: Nagaraj Karennavar, Uttama Prajakeeya Party: Bugadi Basavalingappa, Bharatiya Prajegala Kalyana Party: Mohammed Ismail Mukti.

Protist Block India Party: Vinod Dashrath, Indian Labour Party: Venkatesh Prasad H, Socialist Unity Center of India: Sharanabasava Gonavar, Tippu Sultan Party: Bankapur Shaukat Ali.

Independent Candidates: Gurappa H Imrapur, Praveen Hattennavar, Balanagoudra Mallikarjungoudra, Raju Naikwadi, Shakil Ahmed D Mulla and HS Patil.

Candidates who withdrew their nomination: Veena Janagi, Dingaleshwar Swami, Praveenkumar Madar, Ravi Pattanashetty, Riyaz Sheikh, Shivanand Muttannavar, Rajashekarayya Kantimath, Venkatesh Acharya Mannur.
